The above six-month research study was conducted between September 14, 2010 to March 8, 2011 by Ferme Daoust in Quebec, Canada. This study was conducted in a fully operational dairy farm and subject to the normal day to day challenges dealing with a herd of dairy cows. Because this study covered a six month period - there will obviously be cows coming into production and cows ending their production cycles during this time frame. In order to qualify for participation in Group A or Group B, a cow has to be in it’s three milking per day cycle. The farm tried to keep as close as possible an equal balance between the two Groups and moved the cows according to their respective cycles and the conditions of the test.
  • The average number of cows in Test Group A over the course of the six month period was 18. 
  • The average number of cows in Control Group B was 20 over the same time period.
  • Thirty-eight different cows came and went from Test Group A over the six month period.
  • Thirty-six different cows came and went from Control Group B - four of these cows had spent between two to six weeks with Test Group A before being moved to Control Group B (1 cow was moved in Cycle #5, 2 were moved in Cycle #6, and 1 was moved in Cycle #7 - giving Control Group B a slight advantage or production boost in these Cycle periods).
  • Four cows in Test Group A were present for the entire study.
  • Three cows in Control Group B were present for the entire study.
This is an 80 head operation. The cows are in stalls in two rows. The stalls on the left side of the barn are being fed with Hexahedron 999 Vortex Structured Water - forming Test Group A. The stalls on the right side of the barn are being fed directly from the well water - forming Control Group B. The cows are milked by a pair of robots, one on each side of the barn. The milk from each cow is measured, weighed and analyzed by the electronic robots. The stats are compiled and stored in the database for each individual cow. This is the basis of the data used in this study - which you see summarized above.
